Prepare by ensuring hair is about a quarter inch long, clean, and free of lotions or heavy oils. Avoid exfoliating the day before, skip tanning, and inform your esthetician about medications, skin sensitivities, or recent treatments.
Some discomfort is normal, especially for first-timers, but pain varies by individual and area. Our skilled estheticians use fast, efficient techniques, soothing products, and calming practices; topical numbing can be applied on request for extra comfort.
Results typically last three to six weeks depending on your hair growth cycle, hormones, and activity level. With regular waxing, regrowth often becomes finer and sparser; schedule maintenance every four to six weeks for consistent smoothness.
Certain conditions like open wounds, active rashes, sunburn, recent chemical peels, or isotretinoin use can contraindicate waxing. Pregnancy and blood thinning medications require discussion. Always disclose medical history so our esthetician can recommend the safest approach or reschedule.
Aftercare includes avoiding hot baths, saunas, intense workouts, and tight clothing for twenty four to forty eight hours. Apply a soothing, fragrance-free lotion and exfoliate gently after forty eight hours to prevent ingrown hairs. Avoid direct sun exposure for several days.
Shaving between appointments removes hair at the surface and interrupts waxing benefits; it’s not recommended. If necessary, trim only with scissors or an electric trimmer until regrowth reaches about a quarter inch so waxing can be effective at your next visit.
