Trim long hair to about a quarter inch, avoid heavy lotions, and arrive with clean, dry skin. Avoid caffeine beforehand if you’re sensitive; complete health disclosures help us provide safe, personalized care.
Hair should be about a quarter inch long so wax can grip effectively. If shorter, we may ask you to wait a week or trim to optimal length before waxing.
Some clients experience mild to moderate discomfort, but trained estheticians use fast techniques, soothing waxes, and aftercare to minimize pain. We offer breathing guidance and can recommend topical numbing if you’re especially sensitive.
Most clients return every four to six weeks to maintain smoothness. Your individual cycle and hair growth determine timing; after several appointments, intervals often lengthen as hair thins and regrowth slows.
Certain conditions like active skin infections, severe eczema, open wounds, recent sunburn, or isotretinoin use make waxing unsafe. Diabetes or neuropathy require caution. Always disclose medications and health history for a safe, tailored consultation.
Avoid hot baths, saunas, and heavy workouts for 24 to 48 hours. Wear loose clothing and avoid direct sun. Gently exfoliate after 48 hours to prevent ingrown hairs and apply soothing, fragrance-free products as recommended.
